Business User As a business user you will almost certainly have a network. You will probably have a file server and possibly a shared e-mail system like Microsoft Exchange/Outlook. Small businesses may choose to backup regularly to CD or DVD but as the volume of data get larger will probably turn to tape backups .Whilst tape backup is generally good there are disadvantages and many benefits to be gained from offsite (remote) backup . Whilst your server(s) will be backed up to tape it is rarely the case that data held locally on PC systems are backed up by such systems. This holds even more true for laptops. As more people use laptops, especially those who use them out of the office a lot, the risk of data loss becomes larger. Laptop computers suffer all of the same data loss problems as all other computers. However because of their inherent portability they are much more susceptible to being stolen, lost, or damaged, together with their data! For all sizes of business the advantages are clear:
